Use the usual seat as a starting point
Sony’s support guidance says mounting height depends on personal preference and seating arrangement; it describes the screen center at viewer eye level as a general starting point. Treat that as a viewing suggestion, not a building rule or a required measurement. If several seats are used, consider the main viewing position and whether the others remain comfortable.
Check the room before fixing the position
Look at viewing distance, windows and lamps that may reflect on the screen, furniture below it, and the angle from nearby seats. A fireplace or high shelf can push the screen upward; that choice may affect comfort, so compare it with how you actually watch. The TV’s own manual and viewing-angle information apply to the exact model.
Plan placement and mounting together
Marking a comfortable screen position is only one part of the decision. The wall, mount, TV and requested location also need to work together. Share the TV model, mount if selected, room photo and preferred viewing position when asking about installation. See TV wall mounting for the service and TV mounting estimate factors for the equipment and access details.
